Purpose of this Award

To assist newly admitted international students beginning their first term of studies in Winter 2026 or later and undertaking their university studies in English in an approved undergraduate program at the University of Ottawa.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be an international student with a valid study permit
  2. be newly admitted for the Winter 2026 term or later in an approved English-language undergraduate programs in one of the following faculties: Arts, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences or the Telfer School of Management.
  3. have a minimum admission average of 80%
  4. not enrol in a French program or the French immersion stream
  5. be enrolled full time
Spring-Summer term criteria

  • Students enrolled full time for the Spring-Summer term receive their full scholarship instalment, conditional on meeting all renewal criteria.
  • This scholarship can also be renewed at 50% of its original value if the student enrols part time for the Spring-Summer term for at least six units (two courses).
  • A 50% part-time renewal counts as a full instalment out of the maximum 12 instalments.
  • Students wishing to receive an instalment for the Spring-Summer term must apply through the Online Scholarships and Bursaries portal in uoZone.

Renewal criteria

This scholarship can be renewed for up to 12 instalments if the student meets the renewal criterion:

  • Remain enrolled full time in an undergraduate program in one of the following faculties: Arts, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences or the Telfer School of Management

Notes

  1. This scholarship is only available to international students who pay international tuition fees. Students paying domestic tuition fees are not eligible.
  2. This scholarship cannot be combined with a Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship — Undergraduate Degree.
  3. This scholarship is not awarded for co-op work terms.
  4. Temporary interruption of studies, or enrolment part time or as a non-degree student, will lead to your scholarship being revoked for the term.
