Purpose of this Award
The purpose of this fund is for students with a permanent disability or a permanent medical condition that prevents them from taking more than 12 units per term. Students must contact their learning specialist at Academic Accommodations Service to determine their eligibility. This scholarship aims to compensate for the difference in cost per unit for a student who is unable to enroll in more than 12 units per term due to their permanent disability or their permanent medical health condition.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, have protected person/refugee status, or be an international student with a study permit
- be enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University of Ottawa
- be enrolled with the University of Ottawa Academic Accommodations Service
- have a permanent disability or a permanent medical condition that prevents you from taking more than 12 units per term
- provide the learning specialist, a certificate of incapacity or a psychological assessment confirming that you cannot be enrolled in more than 12 units per term
Note: Students are not eligible for the bursary during a CO-OP work term
How to Apply
Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- A confirmation letter provided by your learning specialist. This document is available on Ventus and a copy must be uploaded with your application on the Online Scholarships portal.
