Purpose of this Award

The Employee's Financial Aid Fund was created to assist CUPE 2626 members with the payment of tuition, UHIP fees and dependent care costs in cases of demonstrated financial need. The value of individual bursaries will depend on the level of the financial assistance required and on the availability of funds. We reserve the right to limit the number of the awards.

How do I find my employee number? 

Your employee number starts with 100, and it can be found in the last line of your accepted contract email, below the “Contract Total.” You can also find your employee number at the top of your pay stub, right next to your name.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person of protected/refugee status
  2. be a member of CUPE 2626
  3. be registered as a part-time or full-time student at the University of Ottawa
  4. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
Note regarding eligibility: We accept only one application per family in cases where both partners are eligible to apply.

How to Apply

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:

  1. the Current Financial Questionnaire
  2. CUPE form
ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Scholarship results are typically available 10-12 weeks after the application deadline. However, the process may take longer because decisions are made by independent selection committees. Recipients will be notified by email once decisions are finalized. Decisions for this fund are final. Please ensure that your Financial Questionnaire accurately reflects your financial situation, as no changes after the deadline will be accepted.
