About this Award

The Harshman Fellowships Society (formerly The Institute of Citizenship) was incorporated in 1954 and was founded by Hubert Harshman, the founder of Carlton Cards. Mr. Harshman held the view that no young person should be prevented from receiving an education because of financial difficulty.

The Mission of The Harshman Fellowships Society is to promote and encourage Canadians to contribute to the society by providing educational opportunities and funding special educational projects.

The donor wishes to thank the Government of Ontario for its contribution under its matching program.
