Purpose of this Award
The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to University of Ottawa students who qualify under the terms
established by the Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund, and who are studying with or working for an associate or
active member of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and who is engaged in health care
research.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be registered full-time at the University of Ottawa
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) rules
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
- be studying with or working for an associate or active member of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and who is engaged in health care research
How to Apply
Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- the Financial Questionnaire
- a letter, no longer than 2 pages, from the associate or active member of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute by whom the applicant will be supervised or with whom the applicant will be studying,
giving information about the research and/or study which the applicant is or will be pursuing
About this Award
This fund was established by the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. Its Coordinating Committee
recommended that it be named The Dr. James J. Wiley CHEO Research Institute Endowment Fund in honour of his
contribution to the CHEO Research Institute over the last 15 years.
The donor thanks the Government of Ontario who helped create this fund through its generous matching contribution.
