Purpose of this Award
To provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who demonstrate an interest for the field of
Canadian or Indigenous studies, or to graduate students who are working on a thesis or a research paper on a
Canadian or Indigenous topic.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
- be registered as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Ottawa
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
- demonstrate an interest for the field of Canadian or Indigenous studies (in the case of undergraduate students) or work on a thesis or a research paper on a Canadian or Indigenous topic (in the case of graduate students)
How to Apply
Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- the Financial Questionnaire
- a letter from the applicant (max. 500 words) summarizing their interest in the field of Canadian or Indigenous studies(undergraduate) or their thesis or research paper on a Canadian or Indigenous topic (graduate)

The fund was established by André Plourde during his tenure as professor at the Department of Economics of
the University of Ottawa.
