Purpose of this Award
To provide financial assistance to Métis Nation of Ontario citizens attending University of Ottawa.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a verified Métis Nation of Ontario citizen
- not be registered as an Indian under the Indian Act, or as an Inuk on an Inuit Registry
- be registered at the University of Ottawa on a full or part-time basis
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
How to Apply
Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- Métis Nation of Ontario Citizenship Verification Form, available through the Métis Nation of Ontario Program Application Portal
- the Financial Questionnaire

About this Award
This fund was established by the Métis Nation of Ontario and the Métis Training Initiatives to benefit
Métis students who will now have a window of opportunity to pursue their post-secondary education.
This will have a major impact on the future well-being of Métis families and on the Métis Nation as a
whole. The founders of this fund appreciate the financial assistance of Human Resource and
Development Canada and the matching contribution of the Government of Ontario through its Ontario
Student Opportunity Trust Fund program.
