Purpose of this Award

To provide financial assistance to eligible woman medical students who are dedicated to modifying the character of medical education in Ontario and make it more responsive to the evolving health care needs of Ontario society.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a female student registered full-time at the Faculty of Medicine
  2. be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules
  3. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
  4. demonstrate a balance of aptitudes across several of the following domains:
i) medical expert/clinical decision maker
ii) collaborator
iii) communicator (educator/humanist/healer)
iv) learner/scholar
v) health advocate
vi) scientist
vii) gatekeeper/resource manager/steward
viii) person

How to Apply

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:

  1. the Financial Questionnaire
  2. a letter from the applicant describing their aptitudes in the domains listed in criteria #4
