Purpose of this Award
To provide financial assistance to single parent students, female or male, having custody of a child and whose education would otherwise be compromised.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be registered at the University of Ottawa on a full-time or part-time basis in a degree or diploma granting program
- be a single parent who has custody of a child
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) rules
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
- demonstrate good academic standing
How to Apply
Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- the Financial Questionnaire
- proof of the applicant's status as a single parent who has custody of a child
About this Award
This endowment fund was established in 1997 by Gilles Morier (MBA'91) and his wife, Danielle Ménard, during his tenure as Assistant Director, Contracts and Technology, Research Services at the University of Ottawa. The donors thank the Alumni Association of the University of Ottawa and the Government of Ontario for their matching contributions.
