Purpose of this Award
The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to a graduate student in financial need registered full-time in the Department of History, at the University of Ottawa.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be registered full-time in a graduate program at the Department of History of the University of Ottawa
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) rules
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa

About this Award
This fund was established by Gertrude Beatty in memory of her son, William Jacques Beatty, to continue the tradition of caring that he developed while working at the University of Ottawa for over 25 years. The donor thanks the Alumni Association of the University of Ottawa and the Government of Ontario for their matching contributions.
