Purpose of this Award

This scholarship will offer financial assistance to high-achieving students with financial need enrolled in programs related to the video-gaming industry that may lead to a career in the video-gaming or eSports fields. 

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with the protected/refugee status
  2. demonstrate merit, which can include academic achievement and community service
  3. demonstrate financial need
  4. enrolled as a full-time student in a Ministry-approved video-gaming, game development, game design or a similar program that may lead to a career in video-gaming and/or eSports

How to Apply

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:

  1. the Financial Questionnaire – Current
  2. acknowledgement of the Ministry’s Notice of Collection of Personal Information
  3. a letter from the applicant (max. 500 words) : describe how this scholarship would help you meet your academic objectives
As part of your response, demonstrate how you meet the merit criteria (i.e., academic excellence and/or demonstrated interest in the video-gaming and eSports industry) to receive this scholarship
