Purpose of this Award

To support students at the Faculty of Science who have dependent children.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with protected or refugee status, or an international student.
  2. Be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in the Faculty of Science of the University of Ottawa.
  3. Be in good academic standing.
  4. Have at least one dependent child.

  1. Proof of status as a parent of a dependent child or children.

About this Award

This scholarship was generously created by Jamil Sader and his wife, Erin Heney, to support students who have the additional responsibility of children. Jamil received his PhD while Jamil and Erin were new parents, and they know firsthand the extra time and financial burdens borne by student parents. This scholarship aims to give additional financial support to parents studying at the Faculty of Science.
