Purpose of this Award

Award scholarships to Indigenous students at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen
  2. provide documented proof of Indigenous identity, in accordance with the requirements of the University of Ottawa Eligibility for Focused Admissions, Scholarships, and Bursaries for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis People administrative procedure
  3. be registered full-time or part-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ottawa
  4. be in good academic standing

About this Award

This scholarship was created thanks to the generosity of Mr. Reg Thompson, in honour of his third great-grandfather, André Beauchemin, who was a member of the Métis provisional government of 1869-1870 and a member of the first Legislative Assembly of Manitoba.
The University of Ottawa is partnering with Indspire to match funds generously donated by Mr. Thompson for these scholarships.
