Purpose of this Award

To provide financial assistance to undergraduate students registered to the MD program at the Faculty of Medicine.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with the protected/refugee status
  2. be registered as a full-time undergraduate student to the MD program at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa
  3. be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) rules
  4. demonstrate the greatest financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
  5. be in good academic standing

About this Award

This scholarship honours the memory of Jacques Robichon, MD, MSc, FRCS(C), and was initiated by his wife Marion H. Robichon, and their children Georges Robichon (B.A. 1969, LL.B. 1972), Joanne Curran (BScN. 1974), Lina Robichon-Hunt (BSc. 1976) and Jacques Robichon (BAdm.es 1978).

Dr. Robichon was a professor in the University of Ottawa's Department of Orthopedic Surgery and was named Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Medicine in 1966. 

The donors thank the Government of Ontario, which helped to create this fund through its generous matching contribution.
