Purpose of this Award
The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to Franco-Ontarian students registered at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be registered as a full-time student in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
- have completed his/her high school studies in French and use French routinely to communicate

About this Award
This scholarship was established in 2002 by Lucie Caron on the occasion of the 10th anniversary celebration of her hiring date at the University of Ottawa. At the time of the establishment of the fund, Mrs. Lucie Caron was the Secretary to the Assistant Vice-Rector at the Alumni and Development office. The founder recognizes the importance of contributing to the education of medical students, and wants to thank her friend and colleague, Chantal Dompierre, for
her financial participation to this fund. The founder wishes to thank the University of Ottawa as well as the Government of Ontario who helped create this fund through their generous matching contribution.
