Purpose of this Award

To provide financial assistance to University of Ottawa medical students who qualify under the terms established by the Ontario Trust Student Support.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with the protected/refugee status
  2. be registered full-time at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa
  3. meet the Ontario residency requirement, as per OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) rules
  4. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
  5. have a record of good academic achievement

About this Award

This fund was established in 1997 by Dr. John M. Steele, graduate of the medical class of 1968, on the occasion of the graduation of his son, Dr. J. MacGregor Steele.
