Purpose of this Award
To provide financial assistance to University of Ottawa medical students who are matched to a
family medicine residency program and who qualify under the terms established by the Ontario
Student Opportunity Trust Fund.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
- be registered as a full-time student to the 4th year of the MD program at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
- be matched to a family medicine residency program
- have a satisfactory academic record

About this Award
This fund was established in 1997 by the family of Deryck Stone on the occasion of his 77th
birthday. The donors thank the Alumni Association of the University of Ottawa and the
Government of Ontario for their matching contributions.
