Purpose of this Award
Financially support deserving undergraduate students at the Faculty of Medicine.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
- be registered as a full-time undergraduate student at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
- be in good academic standing
- have demonstrated integrity, determination, selflessness and an adventurous spirit through community involvement, athletics, and/or extracurricular activities. Experience and interest in tutoring or mentoring others is particularly welcome

About this Award
This fund was created in memory of Amanda Lee Kelsall who passed away on January 5th, 2014. Amanda was an outstanding student and athlete, both in high school and university. She won numerous awards, honours and scholarships, achieving 100% in many courses. After graduating with honours from Eastview Secondary School in Barrie, Ontario, Amanda enrolled at Queen's University in Kingston and completed a BSc in chemistry. Amanda loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart and strived to live for Him in all that she did. She loved others through mentoring, tutoring, serving in the church and community and doing mission work in Ghana. At the time of her death, Amanda was a second year MD student at uOttawa, working towards her dream of becoming a doctor. The Faculty of Medicine will bestow Amanda an in memoriam degree in 2016.
