About this Award

Michael S. Teitelbaum, a senior partner at Hughes Amys LLP, in Toronto, is a cum laude graduate of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, and is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in civil litigation. Michael has endowed this scholarship in loving honour and memory of his mother, Sarah Shirley Teitelbaum, who, following the passing of Michael’s father, Bernard Teitelbaum, when Michael was 14 years old, dedicated herself to supporting Michael in achieving his professional aspirations.

Michael has also endowed this scholarship in appreciation of the education and training he received at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, and in thanks for the support he has received from his colleagues and friends at Hughes Amys LLP, (particularly Wendell S. Wigle, QC), the firm at which he has practised since his call to the Bar of Ontario.

Michael hopes that this scholarship will assist worthy recipients in attaining academic and professional excellence, and in achieving their goals and dreams.

The donor thanks the Government of Ontario, which helped create this fund through its generous matching contributions.
