Purpose of this Award
To support a full-time undergraduate student at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, who has a demonstrated
interest in promoting and protecting the rights of Indigenous people in Canada.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
- be registered as a full-time student in the JD program at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section of the University of Ottawa
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP regulations
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
- have a good academic record
- demonstrate an interest in the promotion and protection of the rights of Indigenous people in Canada
Note: Preference will be given to law students who are First Nations, Inuit or Métis. These applicants will be asked to
provide documented proof of Indigenous identity, in accordance with the requirements of the University of Ottawa
Eligibility for Focused Admissions, Scholarships and Bursarie for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis People administrative
procedure.

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- the Financial Questionnaire
- the Curriculum Vitae on Online Scholarships and Bursaries
- a letter (max. 500 words) outlining the applicant's interest in the promotion and protection of the rights of Indigenous people in Canada
- documented proof of Indigenous identity, in accordance with the requirements of the University of Ottawa Eligibility for Focused Admissions, Scholarships, and Bursaries for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis People administrative procedure, if applicable
