About this Award

This scholarship was created by Leonardo Russomanno, Paolo Giancaterino, Biagio Del Greco, Marco Sciarra and Anthony Marchetti to support and encourage the next generation of criminal defence lawyers. Joyce Milgaard was a tireless advocate in defence of her son David, who was wrongfully convicted of murder and served 23 years in jail for a crime he did not commit. The criminal justice system needs dogged advocates who relentlessly pursue justice and advance the interests of their clients without fear.
