Purpose of this Award

To support second-, third- or fourth-year students who distinguish themselves through their involvement and leadership within the civil law students association, in a club or in another activity through which they can help their peers, and who demonstrates financial need.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with protected or refugee status, or an international student
  2. be enrolled full time in second, third or fourth year at the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section, of the University of Ottawa
  3. demonstrate financial need, according to the criteria of the University of Ottawa Financial Aid and Awards Service
  4. distinguish themselves through their involvement and leadership within the civil law students association, in a club or in another activity through which they can help their peers.

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:

  1. the Financial Questionnaire
  2. a letter (500 words max.) describing how the student distinguishes themselves through their involvement and leadership within the civil law students association, in a club or in another activity through which they can help their peers

This scholarship was generously created by Sonia Agougou, president of the uOttawa civil law students association in 2021–2022, to encourage student involvement in the Civil Law Section at the University and to highlight leadership excellence.
