Purpose of this Award
To grant a scholarship to a student enrolled in the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section, who shows interest in administrative law, labour law or fundamental rights, and who stands out due to their commitment to student or labour associations or other involvement in defending the rights of workers.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with protected or refugee status, or an international student
- be enrolled full time in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section, of the University of Ottawa
- have excellent academic standing
- demonstrate an interest in administrative law, labour law, or fundamental rights
- demonstrate commitment to student or labour associations or other involvement in defending the rights of workers
How to Apply
Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- a curriculum vitae
- a letter from the applicant (of no more than 500 words) that describes their interest in administrative involvement in defending the rights of workers law, labour law or fundamental rights, and their commitment to student or labour associations or other
In the event that several applicants meet the basic requirements, the selection committee will select the recipient
based on the award policies and standard criteria used by the Civil Law Section at the time of selection.
