About this Award
The cost of a legal education has become prohibitive for many potential students. This bursary serves to
encourage a potential student to pursue his or her legal education despite the cost. This bursary is
recognition on the part of our class that many of us would have been unable to attend law school had the
cost been as high when we began.
There are many potential students who, given the opportunity, would be very valuable contributors to the legal community, and consequently to the community at large. Our bursary is meant to encourage that type of person to come to the University of Ottawa in order to start his or her legal career.
The bursary also serves as a challenge for future graduating classes to demonstrate their commitment toward making law school accessible for people from diverse backgrounds, with unique skills and experiences.
The donors thank the Government of Ontario who helped create this fund through its generous matching contributions.
