Purpose of this Award
To support newly-admitted undergraduate students at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section who
demonstrate academic excellence and are involved in gender and sexually diverse communities.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with protected or refugee status, or an international student
- be admitted as a full-time undergraduate student in the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section, of the University of Ottawa
- demonstrate academic excellence
- be involved in gender and sexually diverse communities

- a statement describing the applicant’s own involvement in gender and sexually diverse communities
About this Award
This award is made possible by a donation from Michelle Liu (JD ’23) and Allie Kennington to support and
celebrate students involved in gender and sexually diverse communities within the Faculty of Law, Common Law
Section. The award is part of the Liu-Kennington LGBTQ2S+ Education Fund, including the Liu-Kennington
Award for the LGBTQ2S+ Engineering Community at the University of Waterloo.
