Purpose of this Award
Award a scholarship to a student who is entering the first year of the JD Program at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section of the University of Ottawa, and who is involved in their community.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student
- be admitted full-time into the first year of the JD program at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section of the University of Ottawa
- demonstrate academic excellence
- have distinguished themselves through community leadership, voluntarism and a commitment to a more equitable, diverse and inclusive society
How to Apply
Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- the Curriculum Vitae on Online Scholarship and Bursaries
- a letter from the applicant (max. 500 words) in which they outline their community leadership, voluntarism and commitment to a more equitable, diverse and inclusive society
About this Award
This scholarship was established by Justice Audrey Ramsay in honour of her mother, Dorothy, who saw the importance of education for new immigrants from economically developing countries. The scholarship is intended to recognize individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, community leadership, voluntarism and a commitment to a more equitable, diverse and inclusive society.
