About this Award
John and Rosa Lim immigrated to Canada from South Korea in 1975. As all immigrants, they struggled
with the challenges of a new culture, language, and financial support of their family but they were always
grateful to be given an opportunity to have a better life for their family in Canada. John and Rosa Lim
believed in the value of education and encouraged and supported their son to study the law and to
contribute and serve the community which has welcomed them as immigrants.
Rosa Lim passed away in February of 2005. To honour his parents, Vincent Lim (LL.B. 1996) has initiated a scholarship in their honour so that John and Rosa Lim may continue to support others in their pursuit of legal studies and service to Canadian society.
The donor thanks the Government of Ontario who helped create this fund through its generous matching contributions.
