About this Award

This scholarship fund was generously created in honour of Lori Hyland MacDonald by her family and friends.

Lori Hyland MacDonald was an outgoing, fun-loving woman who believed that everyone deserved a shot at achieving their goals. As a mother of three boys who bid her business career farewell in favor of a new path as a teacher, Lori appreciated a good challenge. Lori knew that education could open many doors, and also knew that sometimes circumstances stood in the way of that progress. She believed in family, friends and opportunity, knowing that the university experience would lead to reaping the rewards of lessons well-learned, and also knowing that no one does it alone. Lori would be proud to know that she helped push a door open a bit more, giving opportunity to someone who shares her passion and interest in taking their education to the next level.

The donors wish to thank the Government of Ontario who helped create this fund through their generous matching contribution.
