Purpose of this Award
Provide financial assistance to students at the Faculty of Education who demonstrate a financial need, as well as an
interest in second-language teaching and/or special education.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be registered in the B.Ed. program at the Faculty of Education
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
- have a CGPA of at least 8.0
- demonstrate an interest in second-language teaching and/or special education

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:
- the Financial Questionnaire
- a letter from the applicant detailing his/her interest in second-language teaching and/or special education
About this Award
Sylvie Boucher's parents and family established this fund in her memory. A gifted student of the Faculty of Education,
Sylvie died following a tragic road accident in April 1995 in Hull. At the time of her death, she was about to receive her
degree. The donors thank the Alumni Association of the University of Ottawa and the Government of Ontario for their
matching contributions.
