About this Award
This bursary was established by Denise Lavigne, a graduate of the uOttawa Faculty of Arts class of
1964, in memory of her mother, Adrienne Bourguignon-Lavigne. Adrienne Bourguignon-Lavigne
taught many thousands of Ottawa students over 40 years, from 1935 to 1972. A 1934 graduate of the
University of Ottawa École normale, she felt a lifelong admiration for Father René Lamoureux,
professor and director of the school. This bursary is meant to facilitate young Franco-Ontarians’
access to the French-language Bachelor of Education offered at the University of Ottawa.
