About this Award
This scholarship was created in memory of Joseph Doucet (1903–1999), grandfather of Telfer
graduate Alain Doucet (BCom ’83). Joseph Doucet was born and raised in Montreal, where he
worked throughout his adult life. He was always a model of respect, strong work ethics and selfreliance to his grandchildren. This scholarship pays tribute to him by rewarding people who display
similar qualities.
What’s more, Alain Doucet and his wife, Christine Allison (BCom ’82), have always extolled the merits of travel and mobility as a means of opening young people’s minds and teaching them to appreciate the world around them. This bursary also aims to encourage students to explore the world as part of their studies and personal development.
