About this Award

This scholarship was created by Jacques Vaillancourt (BCom '68), president of Forest City Services Inc., a company based in the state of Oregon. Born in Hearst, Ontario, Mr. Vaillancourt — who was elected class president in his third year of commerce — believes in the value of studies in a bilingual university and the importance of involvement in student affairs. At the time he established the scholarship, he was vice-president of the U.S.-based “Friends of the University of Ottawa.”

The donor thanks the Alumni Association and the Government of Ontario for their matching donations as part of the OSOTF program.
