About this Award
This fund has been established by the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering in memory of Dr. Earl Dudgeon, former Vice President for Engineering of the National Research Council of Canada. In recognition of his contributions to the profession, he was named Fellow of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineers, the Engineering Institute of Canada, and the Canadian Academy of Engineering. Dr. Dudgeon was known as a dedicated researcher, internationally respected engineer, and friend of the University of Ottawa, serving on the Dean's Advisory Committee when the Faculty of Engineering was established in 1986. In 1991, the University of Ottawa awarded Dr. Dudgeon an honorary doctorate.
