Purpose of this Award

Encourage academic excellence by financially supporting full-time students registered in an undergraduate program at the Département de français.  

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with the protected/refugee status
  2. be registered as a full-time student in an undergraduate program at the Département de français
  3. be a resident of Ontario, as per OSAP rules
  4. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
  5. be in good academic standing
  6. participate in extracurricular activities, preferably involving the French language or la francophonie

About this Award

The scholarship was created by the Département des lettres françaises (now the Département de français) and named in honour of Father Bernard Julien, o.m.i., founder of the Department. The donors wish to thank the Alumni Association and the Government of Ontario for their matching contributions towards the establishment of this fund.
