Purpose of this Award

The purpose of this bursary is to help students who are registered in a direct-entry faculty and who demonstrate financial need to become the first member of their family to attend a postsecondary institution. Students are considered "first generation" students if their father and mother did not complete postsecondary education.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or have protected person or refugee status
  2. be a resident of Ontario, as per OSAP rules
  3. be registered full time in an undergraduate program, in a direct-entry faculty
  4. be a first generation student whose parents have not undertaken postsecondary studies
  5. demonstrate financial need
  6. maintain satisfactory academic standing
