About this Award

The exceptional contribution of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate has greatly influenced the University of Ottawa since its founding as the College of Bytown in 1848. This historic partnership took on a new form January 15, 1993, when Father Benoît Garceau, provincial of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, announced that his organization planned to make a substantial donation to the VISION Campaign. The gift was used to create a new scholarship fund.
