Purpose of this Award

To support engineering students demonstrating academic excellence, who face financial barriers, helping to reduce financial stress and enable their academic success.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with protected or refugee status, or an international student
  2. be enrolled as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ottawa
  3. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa
  4. demonstrate excellent academic standings

About this Award

This bursary is established to support engineering students facing financial barriers, inspired by the donor’s own journey at the University of Ottawa. As a student, he benefited from need-based scholarships that allowed him to reduce the hours he spent working part-time jobs, and instead devote more of his energy to his engineering studies. That experience shaped his belief that financial support can meaningfully change a student’s trajectory. This bursary is designed to provide recipients with the same freedom—to focus, to excel, and to pursue greatness in their education—so they can fully develop their potential and ultimately make meaningful contributions to the field of engineering.
