Purpose of this Award

BDO Canada's gift will create scholarships for the most deserving and motivated accounting students, actively supporting and encouraging academic excellence, initiative, diligence and leadership among Canada's next generation of accounting leaders.

The BDO Accounting Scholarship will provide Telfer students with financial support and incentive, rewarding those students who distinguish themselves through academic merit and who also demonstrate a record of involvement in the School or community at large.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student
  2. be registered as a full-time student in the second, third or fourth year of the accounting program at the Telfer School of Management
  3. have distinguished himself/herself through academic merit (CGPA of 7.0 or higher)
  4. be committed to obtaining a CPA designation
  5. demonstrate that he/she has volunteered or is volunteering in broader community related activities, including the Telfer School of Management's community life

How to Apply

Submitted in the Online Scholarship and Bursaries portal, accessible via uoZone, and must include:

  1. the Curriculum Vitae on Online Scholarships and Bursaries
  2. a letter from the applicant detailing his/her commitment to obtaining a CPA designation
