Purpose of this Award
To provide a series of scholarships that share a primary goal of furthering access to postsecondary education for women or students who identify as women.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
- Be a woman or identify as a woman.
- Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate co-op program in mathematics or statistics at the Faculty of Science of the University of Ottawa.
- Have completed the first year of the program.
- Demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa.
- Be in good academic standing.

About this Award
The purpose of the CFUW is to:
• Assist in developing a sound concept of educational values and in maintaining high standards of public education in Canada, to encourage advanced study and research by women university graduates.
• Elicit and sustain among members an intelligent interest in all aspects of public affairs in the political, social, cultural and scientific areas, to encourage active participation in such areas by qualified women and to provide an opportunity for effective, concerted action.
• Foster a sense of responsibility and encourage women university graduates to place their educational and professional training at the service of the community in local, national and international fields, to be concerned with human rights and, at the same time, safeguard and improve the economic, legal and professional status of women in Canada.
• Participate in the work of Graduate Women International (GWI), of which CFUW is a member, to bring about understanding, friendship and co-operation among women university graduates, irrespective of race, religion or political opinion.
The club’s members have established a number of annually funded (non-endowed) scholarships and one endowed scholarship at the University of Ottawa inspired by their respective interests and accomplishments.
