Purpose of this Award

To support travel costs and/or scholarship fees to attend a summer course in Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Welsh or Breton language either abroad or in North America.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be registered as a full-time undergraduate student and be enrolled in the Minor in Celtic Studies in the Department of Modern Languages, OR have completed at least 3 Celtic Studies courses, including one Irish language course, in the same department
  2. be in good academic standing, with a minimum CGPA of 8.0
  3. intend to register to a summer course in Irish, Scottish, Gaelic, Welsh or Breton language either abroad or in North America
Submit a justification of the purpose, value and necessity of the requested travel funding (500 words), including a summary of the travel budget


Note: The recipient of this Fund will be asked by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures to provide a short report on the outcome of the proposed activities after completion of the travel.
