Purpose of this Award
Provide financial assistance to Development and Globalization students (B.A. and M.A.) for travel related to program requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student;
- be registered as a full-time student in a B.A. or M.A. program at the School of International Development and Global Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ottawa;
- have achieved a CGPA of at least 7.5;
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa;
- demonstrate a continuing interest in community service, and/or volunteer activities;
- travel abroad as part of their program requirements.

- a summary of the travel to be undertaken as part of the applicant's program requirements.
About this Award
The School of International Development and Global Studies is an academic and policy-oriented department committed to improving the life opportunities of disadvantaged people in developing countries. Our students have a wide range of opportunities to engage with the challenge of international development, through courses abroad, volunteer and internship opportunities, and research projects. By establishing this Bursary, the SIDGS intends to assist students in gaining the international experience that is an important contributing factor to increasing both job market skills, and understanding of international development problems.
