About this Award

Welch has been helping clients since 1918, when George Andrew Welch founded the firm in Ottawa, Canada. Since then, Welch LLP has grown into a mid-sized, full service firm of Chartered Accountants with a staff of over 200 people and 11 offices in Ontario and Quebec - making Welch LLP the 18th largest accounting firm in Canada. During this time, they have applied our experience and expertise to thousands of clients, both big and small, new and established, in a wide spectrum of industries.

Welch goes further into a client's business issues. They think harder about what should be done and they work closely with the client to build a solid relationship so they can fine-tune financial systems and continuously improve a client's business. They strive to be more than just an accountant; they are business experts. Welch LLP has also supported the Telfer School of Management's Accounting Program by supporting the Welch Accounting Fellowship for many years, teaching and sponsoring club events. Managing Partner Michael Burch is a Telfer Alumnus and member of the Dean's Advisory Board.
