Purpose of this Award
To provide a scholarship to a deserving student registered in a Bachelor of Music program (piano performance) at the School of Music in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student
- be registered in a Bachelor of Music program (including the BMus combined programs) in the School of Music in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa
- demonstrate academic excellence
- show outstanding potential in piano performance and have the intention of pursuing a professional career as a performing pianist

- a letter from the applicant stating his/her intention of pursuing a professional career as a performing pianist
About this Award
This scholarship was established in 2001 by Nora Kelly. Mrs. Kelly is a former teacher and a noted historian of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She is the author of The Men of the Mounted, and co-author, with her husband, of The Royal Canadian Mounted Police: A Century of History, and Policing in Canada. She also is an accomplished pianist.
