About this Award
The Department of Criminology has established the Chuck Talbot Memorial Prize in memory of one of its longstanding colleagues, Professor Charles K. Talbot, who died in August 1992. Professor Talbot was a member of the
Department of Criminology since the creation of the Department, beginning his career with the University of Ottawa in
1969. Influential in his field of research, Professor Talbot was an enthusiastic educator. In addition to his responsibilities
as professor, he helped establish the Department's Field Placement Program and was its coordinator until the mid 1980s.
Colleagues and students alike miss him very much.
