About this Award
Noëlla Larocque (born in North Bay, in 1909) and Louis-David Major (born in Sturgeon Falls, in
1904) moved to New Liskeard, Ontario, in 1946 where they raised their family, while committed to
the promotion of French education in Northern Ontario. This bursary reminds us of them and is
awarded to a Franco-Ontarian student from Northern Ontario who registers for the first time in an
undergraduate program taught in French at the University of Ottawa.
The donor thanks the University of Ottawa and the Government of Ontario for their matching contributions.
