Purpose of this Award
Rather than emphasizing outstanding academic performance, this scholarship recognizes students' perseverance, commitment and unique experiences. Its goal is to ease the transition between high school and university and encourage university studies.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with the protected/refugee status
- be admitted through the Declaration of Personal Experience (DPE) into one of the following faculties at the University of Ottawa: Arts, Civil Law, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science Social, Sciences, Telfer School of Management
- register as a full-time student for the first time in an undergraduate program
- have completed the Declaration of Personal Experience

Each direct-entry faculty nominates one or more candidates annually. Nominations and selection of recipients are based on students' Declarations of Personal Experience.
