Those who have maintained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 8.5 after their first year will be hired by the same research group for the months of May to August and will receive $6,500.

Purpose of this Award

The Faculty of Science awards 16 of these scholarships to the best eligible students. This scholarship consists of two work terms with a research group at the Faculty of Science or the Faculty of Medicine (first work term = $5,000; second work term = $6,500).

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or have protected person or refugee status
  2. be registered full time in September, for the entire academic year, in an undergraduate program at the Faculty of Science
  3. have a minimum admission average of 92%
  4. demonstrate research skills and involvement in extracurricular scientific activities
  5. be recommended by a science teacher
  6. include a 250-word text describing some of the ways you explore your passion for science and share it with others
  7. attend an interview in the spring

  1. a transcript for your two previous years of study and a report card for the current year
  2. a resume describing your latest academic and extracurricular achievements, especially those related to science
  3. a letter of recommendation from a science teacher
