About this Award

Costco Wholesale Corporation operates an international chain of membership warehouses that carry quality, brand name merchandise at substantially lower prices than are typically found at conventional wholesale or retail sources. The warehouses are designed to help small-to-medium-sized businesses reduce costs in purchasing for resale and for everyday business use. Individuals may also purchase for their personal needs. Costco is known for carrying top quality national and regional brands, with 100% satisfaction guaranteed, at prices consistently below traditional wholesale or retail outlets.

The Costco Canada Scholarship Fund began in 2012. Costco provides financial support to first-year students entering a business program who might not otherwise be able to achieve their educational goals. To date, Costco has created eight scholarships in universities across Canada, and it plans to create additional scholarships in the years ahead in areas where Costco stores are located.

The donor wishes to thank the Government of Ontario for its contribution under its matching program.
