Purpose of this Award
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must:
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student
- participate in an activity as part of their program of study, such as a conference, a student competition or an academic exchange
- be registered as a full-time or part-time student in the Masters of Health Administration (MHA) program at the time of application

- a declaration (two pages maximum) by the applicant indicating an extensive interest in the field of health care and how an activity that is part of his or her program of study,
About this Award
Michel Bilodeau’s health care career began in 1977 as VP of HR at Laval University Hospital; he has served in senior roles at the Ottawa General Hospital; as Executive Director of the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Center, leading an important merger of several health care organizations to create Sisters of Charity Health Service, and the Elisabeth-Bruyere Research Institute.
Michel is a Fellow of CCHSE, Diplomat with the American College, received a Who's Who award from Canadian Healthcare Manager Magazine; and several other awards from the National Capital Business Community; the ACHE and others for his outstanding contribution to health administration.
Michel has chaired boards including the Ottawa Academy of Hospital Executives, the Ontario Hospital Association, OHA Region, and served on many others including the Board of the Accreditation Commission of Education in Health Services Administration; the Ontario Hospital Association; OCRI, United Way of Ottawa, Success by six, CHEO Foundation, the CHEO Research Institute and the Ontario Health Research Foundation.
Michel has been President and CEO of CHEO from 2006 to 2011, and actively involved with Telfer’s MHA program since 1984, supervising residents, as an Adjunct Professor, and as chair of its external advisory committee.
