Purpose of this Award

To provide a scholarship to a talented graduate student who demonstrates outstanding potential in piano performance, at the School of Music, Faculty of Arts, University of Ottawa.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  1. be registered in the MMus in Piano Performance or the Graduate Diploma in Music Performance at the School of Music of the University of Ottawa
  2. have outstanding potential as a performer
  3. demonstrate academic excellence
  4. demonstrate an intent to pursue a career as a concert performer

  1. a letter demonstrating the applicant’s intent to pursue a career as a concert performer

About this Award

The fund was established by Zoya Solod, native of the Ukraine, to encourage promising talent. Mrs. Solod has studied piano since she was a small child. She graduated from McGill University and she was a music teacher in Ottawa public schools.
